Guatemala - Bressani Family Gesha - Washed Process
Finca San Jerónimo Miramar, located on Volcán Atitlán, Guatemala, is a fourth-generation farm operated by the Bressani family. Giorgio Bressani and his siblings, along with their highly skilled teams of pickers and professional staff, meticulously care for the soil and grow a number of cash crops aside from coffee, including cacao, cardamom, and various hardwoods. FSJM’s fully organic forest is the product of precise genetic management: the farm breeds and selects trees based on disease resistance, yield, and cup performance.
The grandeur of FSJM is reflected in their exquisite gesha. This lot was produced using a traditional Guatemalan washed process: it was first hand-picked at peak ripeness, then sorted, floated, pulped using a disc pulper, separated by density, fermented underwater for 24 hours, washed, and finally dried on patios.
In the cup, I find rich and ripe stone fruits, a kiss of jasmine, and green tea finish. This coffee is amongst my all time favorites from Guatemala. I hope you love it as much as I do!
