Having opened in 1953, this station predates Kenyan independence; most farmers that are served by the cooperative work on ⅓ hectare of land and deliver cherries to the factory shortly after harvest. These farmers grow classic Kenyan varieties such as, Batian, SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003ePeaberries in general are so wicked cool. This washed peaberry from the Kii Factory is a juice explosion. I guess that makes it very hot? This lot was a part of the Kii Factory’s microlot program which separates cherries based on the day they were delivered to the processing station.
