Located in Songwe, Tanzania, Iyenga AMCOS is a cooperative that connects 193 members and more than 500 smallholders. Most smallholders farm plots of land between 1-2 hectares and are generally located within walking distance of the cooperative's washing station. Farmers mill their coffee with a government provided Penagos UCBE 500, selected for its efficient water utilizations - this is crucial as the region experiences seasonal dryness. The cooperative produces exquisite coffee, having won the Taste of Harvest competition in 2019 for their PB and AA coffees, and this lot, a PB, is no exception.

In these cups, I find a syrupy sweetness, a subtle lime or lemon acidity, and a creaminess that reminds me of nougat and cereal milk.
